Patrick Hutchinson is an activist, author, personal trainer and children’s athletics coach. He received worldwide attention after being photographed carrying an injured counter-protestor to safety during a Black Lives Matter demonstration in central London. The photograph has been upheld as a defining moment of 2020 and the BLM movement. As a proud father-of-four and a grandfather-of-four, family is at the heart of everything for Patrick and if he isn’t training you will find him taking care of his children and grandchildren, who are the most important things to him of all. Patrick is also one of the founding members of UTCAI (United to Change and Inspire), an organisation that works to bring people together and is united in strength to overcome injustice and champion equality for all.
Amongst his many accolades, Patrick has graced the front covers of Vogue and Men's Health, appeared on BBC Breakfast and Sky News and partnered with GQ to talk with Prince Harry about mental health and race issues. Recently, Patrick released his debut book Everyone Versus Racism: A Letter To My Children, in which he describes the realities of life as a black man today and why we must unite to inspire change for generations to come.
In 2020, Patrick won the Humanitarian Award at GQ Men of the Year ceremony
